Do you know how to choose the right day cream?

Finding the right day cream is a true blessing for every woman. It doesn’t only improve the condition of the skin but also enhances its looks, is suitable to wear under the makeup and additionally, it prolongs its wear. The question is, how to choose the right cream to gain all the benefits at once? What should such a noteworthy cream contain in its composition?

The skin has its own needs and in order to be able to enjoy its astonishing looks, we must provide it with appropriate ingredients and suitable care. Therefore, a face cream is the fundamental step in every skin care regime. The purchase of both the night as well as night cream must be well-thought-out in advance. Today, we’re choosing a ‘good day cream’. Would you like to have the most excellent face cream in your bathroom?

What should the best face cream be like?

Due to the fact that morning skin care is slightly more gentle and set to serve a different purpose (it cannot overburden the skin), a day cream is the one that:

  • is quickly absorbed,
  • has a lightweight consistency, does not accumulate in the hollows of the face,
  • does not clog pores,
  • has a high UV filter,
  • is suitable to wear under the makeup,
  • does not leave a greasy coating n the skin surface,
  • moisturizes the skin well,
  • nourishes the skin properly,
  • protects the skin against adverse external factors (rain, frost, toxins, air-conditioning, etc.),
  • provides necessary nourishing ingredients,
  • contains valuable antioxidants (regardless of the skin type).

What effects can you expect from a good facial day cream?

First of all, the best day cream should protect the skin against impurities, adverse effects of the weather and environment, solar radiation as well as losing moisture which has a direct impact on skin aging and wrinkle appearance. Therefore, even people with oily skin cannot avoid using moisturizing creams. The cosmetic market abounds in creams that not only mattify the skin and balance sebum secretion but also moisturize – prevent water loss from its deeper layers. Moreover, the best day cream must contain a high SPF – this way, the skin will not age as quickly and there will be no discolorations or pigmentation spots on its surface. The sunscreen protects the skin from photoaging – irreversible damage of the skin under the influence of the sun.

At the same time, an every day cream should have a lightweight consistency and be well absorbed so it wouldn’t build up on the skin creating a comedogenic layer. It’s also important that it doesn’t roll under the makeup so, in other words, it must cooperate with the color cosmetics you use for your daily look.

What components should you find in a day cream?

The composition of the cream (it applies not only to the day, but all types – whether it’s intended for the night or under the eyes, or for example, for hands) is the key issue. If a cream contains synthetics, comedogenic ingredients or the so-called “clogging” substances that increase its viscosity, absorption or simply the volume of the cosmetic, and have no effect on the skin (or disrupt its proper functioning) – such a cream is simply worthless and a waste of money.

What ingredients to look for in a cream? All the natural ones, i.e. oils (jojoba oil, avocado, argan or macadamia oil), shea butter, plant extracts such as prickly pear, flax, mallow, aloe, rose or chamomile.

Another important issue are minerals and vitamins that care for the perfect condition of the skin and take part in the correctness of the processes taking place in its cells. The fatty acids contained in natural oils also work similarly.

Moreover, any face cream, regardless of the age of the skin, should abound in antioxidants, which not only prolong the youthfulness of the skin and delay the appearance of wrinkles but also sweep away free radicals and protect our skin staying in the smog, dust or fumes every day. “Skin in the city” – this is the slogan which stands for the requirement to use cosmetics with a high content of antioxidants. The strongest antioxidants are: cysteine, carotenoids, vitamins A, C, E, and flavonoids.

It is also worth remembering that the price of a cream is not a determinant of its quality. As a matter of fact, you often overpay for the brand that makes the cream, not for its quality. Therefore, even a moderate-price cream can be sensational. Of course, the composition will tell you all about it so always make sure to take a closer look at it. Look up all questionable ingredients and pay attention to their order.

Enjoy your shopping!
